Pond Hires Maccumbee as Senior Project Manager

ATLANTA - (September 10, 2024) – Pond, an industry leader in engineering, architecture, planning, and construction management services, has hired Cory Maccumbee, PE, as senior project manager to support Pond’s Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) projects.

In this role, Maccumbee will lead and manage the execution of NAVFAC design projects on three Architectural/Engineering (A/E) Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts Pond holds with NAVFAC Washington and NAVFAC Southeast. In addition, he will participate in the management of the United States Naval Academy Bancroft Hall Recapitalization Program task orders.

“Cory’s extensive NAVFAC experience in facilities management for the Navy and other DoD branches will further enable Pond to provide significant expertise in this area,” said Pond Navy Program Manager Dan Stoddard. “He is a great addition to Pond’s Navy team and brings a unique skillset that includes construction, project management, planning, and risk management and mitigation – all within the purview of supporting U.S. Navy activities worldwide.” 

Prior to joining Pond, Maccumbee most recently served as the Public Works Officer for Naval Station Norfolk, in Norfolk, VA, where he was responsible for the planning, design, environmental, construction, maintenance/repair, utilities, transportation, and ship berthing services for 1,457 facilities valued at $12.8B. He has also held the position of Assistant Operations Officer, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Washington, at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington D.C., and Director of Construction, NAVFAC Washington, at Andrews Air Force Base, MD.

Maccumbee holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy; a Master of Engineering, Systems Engineering and Analysis, from the  Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA; and a Master of Engineering, Project Management, from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia.
