Pond Hires Greg Herring as Army Program Manager

ATLANTA – (December 13, 2024) – Pond & Company (Pond), an industry leader in engineering, architecture, planning, and construction management services, today announced the hiring of Greg Herring as Army Program Manager. In this role, Herring will utilize his extensive experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) building relationships and servicing projects and programs with Army clients.  

Herring most recently served as the Chief of the Special Projects Branch, Planning, Programs and Project Management (PPPM) Division for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, where he was responsible for the management and execution of Military Sustainment, Restoration & Modernization, “Reimbursable Support for Others,” “Interagency & International Services (IIS) Programs,” and associated missions of the Rapid Response Technical Center of Expertise (RR-TCX), Petroleum Oils and Lubricants Mandatory Center of Expertise (POL-MCX), the Protective Design Center of Expertise (PDC), and the Transportation Systems Center of Expertise (TSCX). 

“Greg Herring brings over 30 years of experience with USACE – a valuable asset to our firm and our clients,” said Senior Vice President, Federal Business Line, Mike Magahey. “He will leverage his expertise in Army planning, project management, and programs to create and foster relationships with our clients and serve the mission of USACE.”

Herring also served for three years as Program/Project Manager for Environmental Management, Directorate of Engineering and Services for the U.S. Air Force HQ Strategic Air Command, at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. He has experience as a project geologist and construction inspector for a national consulting firm. Herring holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Nebraska and is a Licensed Engineering Geologist (LEG) and Licensed Geologist (LG).
