PRESS RELEASE
ATLANTA – (May 2, 2023) – Pond today announced three promotions within its Environmental & Water Resources (EWR) group – key management moves that strengthen the firm’s industry-leading engineering, architecture, planning, and construction services:
Martin has 17 years of experience and is an expert in the management and delivery of complex environmental projects under state and federal guidelines. He has experience with Section 401/404/10 permitting, Endangered Species Act studies, and NEPA analysis. Martin has been key in permitting hundreds of miles of corridor for linear infrastructure and thousands of acres of site work for energy, industrial, and development projects. In his new role he will be leading the EWR growth strategy, project and client management, and staff development. Martin’s expertise and leadership will continue to equip Pond’s EWR team for future projects and endeavors.
Barksdale is a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) and has spent his career guiding public and private clients through regulatory requirements in an ethical and sustainable manner. Barksdale has worked on variety of projects serving as project and client manager, ecological field lead, erosion control plan reviewer, regulatory specialist, and environmental inspector. His experience leading pre-construction activities and supplying construction oversight offers a unique ability to communicate and respond to possible regulatory requirements. In his new role, Barksdale will use his experience to manage day-to-day operations of the EWR team throughout Pond’s offices, assist in guiding the firm’s growth, and perform quality checks to ensure Pond’s clients are receiving excellent service.
“The promotion of Glenn, Flynt, and Michael is not just about the great work they have done for both Pond and our clients, but also an acknowledgment that the EWR group’s future will be bright through their leadership."
Savage is a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) and Project Management Professional (PMP) focusing his career on independently managing all aspects of complex technical projects across the energy, federal, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. His connectivity with regulatory agents and expertise in federal, state, and local environmental rules has allowed him to successfully navigate projects through the design, construction and operational phases while minimizing the costs and delays typically associated with waiting for permits or addressing non-compliance issues. In his newly expanded role, Savage will be responsible for fostering technical excellence through the establishment, implementation and sustainment of technical standards, resource libraries and educational programs as well as identifying and leading operational improvement exercises designed to deliver excellent value to Pond’s customers.
Pond Executive Vice President of Infrastructure James McNabb stated, “We have experienced a significant amount of growth in our EWR group over the past few years. The promotion of Glenn, Flynt, and Michael is not just about the great work they have done for both Pond and our clients, but also an acknowledgment that the EWR group’s future will be bright through their leadership.”
