ATLANTA - (Oct. 5, 2023) - Pond and joint-venture (JV) partner, GSI, today announced the award of a task order under the existing Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) Global Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants (GPOL) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract.
This project is for cathodic protection repairs at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Work includes installation of new, and repair of, existing cathodic protection systems for fuel storage tanks, associated piping, and pipelines. Cathodic protection provides an electrochemical process to control corrosion of metal in the environment.
“This is a key win for the GSI-Pond JV and enhances the portfolio of Pond projects at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and in the entire Pacific region. We are extremely proud of the fact that NAVFAC EXWC recognizes our past performance and has confidence in our ability to execute this work,” said Pond Vice President for Department of Defense Fuel Programs Willie Robohn.
