ATLANTA, GA – (May 20, 2024) – Pond, an industry leader in engineering, architecture, planning, and construction management services, has been awarded a contract to provide design and bidding services for a new air traffic control tower (ATCT) at Max Westheimer Airport (OUN) at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK.

Under the contract, Pond will be providing overall project management services, as well as design for architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, ATCT equipment, and airfield lighting. As a subconsultant to KSA Engineering, the on-call airport consultant providing civil design for the project, Pond will also manage the bidding process for construction of the new tower which is anticipated to begin in late 2024. The contract is valued at $1.04 million.

The site for the new ATCT was selected following a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) siting assessment panel conducted by CTBX/A Pond Brand. Pond provided the virtual reality component of the assessment completed in November 2023.
