The AeroCIDs and the Aerotropolis Alliance selected Pond to develop Model Mile Greenway Feasibility Studies for seven communities in south metro Atlanta. Pond worked with Atlanta, Clayton County, East Point, Forest Park, Hapeville, South Fulton, and Union City to develop the first segment of a trail network in their respective neighborhoods in and around the Aerotropolis study area.

These feasibility studies included examining a trail corridor, documenting existing conditions, reviewing past studies, developing trail alignments, and developing strategies for implementation with each community. Pond developed tailored deliverables for each community, including a final document, a 15% level layout, three-dimensional and virtual reality graphics, and a promotional video.

This project was unique because it was essentially seven separate projects managed under a single contract. The team successfully mobilized and advanced work on this project throughout 2020 despite COVID-19 challenges. Using virtual venues for community engagement contributed to increased inclusion and accessibility.
