Atlanta BeltLine, Subarea Master Plans
Pond led the effort to create a Master Plan Update for Subarea 6 of the Atlanta BeltLine - one of ten small districts that comprise the trail corridor. The plan is an updated to the 2011 subarea plan that was completed before any BeltLine corridor construction.
The planning process included four rounds of meetings with a Stakeholder Advisory Committee, a Technical Advisory Committee, and the general public. Part of the engagement also included a two-week “gallery” open to the public within the Subarea—plan recommendations emphasize land use, open space, and mobility/safety.
The plan identifies key nodes for redevelopment and encourages maintaining a dynamic economic ecology, and local affordable housing.
