City of Lawrenceville, CTP & Comprehensive Plan Update
Pond was selected for the development of a comprehensive transportation master plan for the City of Lawrenceville, aimed at identifying and addressing multimodal transportation needs within the city. Various projects and programs were formulated and prioritized through technical assessments and public input to align with the identified needs.
The transportation master plan serves as a guiding document for transportation investments within the city over the next twenty years, shaping the future development of transportation infrastructure. Notably, the projects identified and prioritized within the transportation plan are expected to influence the selection of projects funded by the Gwinnett County Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
Key features of the transportation master plan include a heightened awareness of the importance of maintaining well-connected transportation networks throughout the community and its surrounding areas, focusing on enhancing mobility along major roadways such as State Routes 20 and 316 and Sugarloaf Parkway.
The plan also leveraged the ARC Activity-Based Travel Demand Model (ABM) to conduct operational traffic analyses, pinpointing improvement areas. Furthermore, a thorough review of crash data was undertaken to inform safety enhancements, with particular emphasis placed on upgrading pedestrian infrastructure, all of which have been integrated into the Master Plan to ensure a comprehensive approach to transportation development and safety within the City of Lawrenceville.
