Wesleyan School Improvements
Pond has designed several projects on the Wesleyan School campus in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Pond assisted with the school's initial master planning effort for all improvements. Design projects have included the full rehabilitation of the school's football stadium, entailing the complete replacement of the natural turf with new sub-drainage and irrigation systems.
Additionally, Pond provided site design and permitting for the new Hoyt Family Athletic Complex. This complex consists of new lacrosse and softball stadiums, each accommodating approximately 500 people, equipped with a fully furnished press box, natural turf, clay infields, and irrigation. An artificial turf practice field and a field house supporting both the softball and lacrosse fields, along with associated parking and infrastructure, were also part of the complex.
Pond also contributed to the rehabilitation of the school's existing running track, utilizing 3D laser scanning to capture deformations in the track's surface, which were then illustrated with a colorized heat map.
Most recently, Pond has completed civil, landscape architecture, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection designs for a new academic building, finalizing the school's quad.
The building, spanning approximately 25,000 square feet, encompasses various classroom and laboratory spaces. Pond's mechanical and plumbing engineers have also assisted with other building updates and renovations on campus.
Close coordination with the school has been maintained throughout the design process of all projects, ensuring that construction could proceed at a time and in a phased manner least disruptive to the school's ongoing operations.
