Current Openings in Atlanta, GA (Headquarters)

■  Project Coordinator

We are currently in need of an experienced Project Coordinator to join our award-winning Fueling team located in our Norcross, GA corporate office.  This position will entail working within our natural gas design group, serving our customers’ needs in transmission and distribution systems.  Our industry-leading fueling system experts understand the rapidly expanding domestic Oil & Gas industry, and how to get the job done on time, in budget and within regulations.  Our clients include major natural gas providers, FBO’s, oil companies, major airlines, airport authorities, local and federal government agencies, and numerous branches of the US military.

The chosen candidate will develop and manage detailed, resource- and cost-loaded MS Project schedules, manage and coordinate subcontractor documents, as well as other aspects of project coordination between multiple design teams for concurrent projects. He or she will be responsible for interacting with subcontractors, tracking progress, producing meeting minutes, interacting with GIS based land acquisition software and aiding with project budget tracking in conjunction with the schedule.

Requirements

+5 years experience in project coordination or contract administration in a Design-Build environment, including knowledge of A&E common practices, coordination with subcontractors. This position requires expertise in MS Project software, strong technical calculation skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with people.  Successful candidates will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail and have competency in administrative / office support with an efficient use of general office equipment and excellent customer service skills. The selected candidate must have strong working knowledge of MS Office products and internet research. Proficiency in Adobe products, specifically Photoshop and InDesign, would be beneficial.

■  Civil Engineer Project Manager

We are currently in need of a Civil Engineer Project Manager with eight-to-ten years of experience. This position will work in our Civil Engineering Group which serves the firm by providing engineering and planning expertise to our clients in city, state, federal and commercial projects worldwide. The types of planning, design and development services we provide include: infrastructure improvement and new development projects with county, state and federal government agencies; and vertical and horizontal aviation and fueling infrastructure projects serving local and military airports around the world.

Job Requirements:

Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelors Degree in an accredited Civil Engineering program, with at least 3-5 years of project management experience.  Any of the following engineering experience would be beneficial: design of stormwater management systems and water quality Best Management Practices; design of sanitary sewerage systems, including pump stations and force mains; design of water mains for domestic use and fire protection; design of local streets; design of site grading plans and erosion, sedimentation, and pollution control plans; step-backwater analyses and floodplain studies with FEMA approval; pavement design; and report writing for engineering studies.  Experience with federal government projects required. Experience with bulk fuel projects desired, but not required.

■  Electrical Designer

We are currently in need of an experienced Electrical Designer to join our winning design team located in our Atlanta corporate office.  We have a number of exciting projects in house serving clients in the municipal, military and corporate segments. Our electrical engineers work alongside mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural team members providing building systems designs to our program managers.  With some clients we go further in providing design/build solutions utilizing our in-house construction management team.

Requirements

Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 4 years design and CAD drafting experience, preferably in a consulting firm. Candidates must have understanding of engineering calculations. Lighting and power distribution design experience is required, and fire alarm and voice/data design experience is desired. ■  Corrosion Control Project Manager

Pond & Company are currently in need of an experienced Corrosion Control/Cathodic Protection Project Manager in our Integrity and Compliance Management Group. Pond’s Integrity and Compliance Management Group specializes in helping military and commercial clients optimize resources while minimizing risks and costs for fueling storage and distribution systems compliance worldwide. Our clients include major airlines, FBO’s, oil companies, airport authorities and numerous branches of the military.

Requirements

Qualified candidates must have minimum of 7+ years of experience in the corrosion control/cathodic protection field. Preferable experience would include project management experience related to the design, testing and evaluation of cathodic protection systems.  Experience with DOT compliance for pipelines and terminal operations required.  Individual should have demonstrated experience in developing and leading a team of individuals. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision. Considerations must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; and be authorized to work in the US. Extensive, short-term travel is part of this position. Willingness to relocate to Atlanta, GA area is preferred.

■  Midstream Project Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Midstream Program, located in our Norcross headquarters. The Midstream group focuses on helping our clients develop pipeline and terminaling assets in the high-growth oil & gas and refined product industries.  We are always looking for proactive and responsive project managers to compliment our award-winning, growth-oriented firm.

Viable candidates must be familiar with flammable liquids design and construction, and be proficient with the unique industry standards and practices. Successful project managers at Pond & Company share a team-based operating philosophy and will have experience indirectly managing and coaching multiple disciplines assigned to a project.  Specifically, project managers in the Midstream Program will manage capital projects and expansions for petroleum companies, pipelines, independent terminals and energy companies.   

Requirements

8-15 years experience in a consulting environment, with a focus on either Oil & Gas, Midstream/Terminals, or Pipeline projects and clients. Registered Engineers preferred. Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with people, and strong presentation skills.

■  Electrical Engineer – Fueling Division

We are currently in need of an Electrical Engineer, with 5+ years experience, to join our Fuels Department located in our Atlanta office. This position will include working with mechanical and civil engineers to design various bulk fuel storage and dispensing systems. This is a tremendous growth opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience beyond the ordinary, both technically and professionally.

Position Requirements

  • ABET Accredited Degree from a 4-year college or university in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. (eligible to pursue PE if not currently licensed)
  • Practical hands-on ability to use AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical power and controls
  • Practical design calculation skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

■  Mechanical Engineer

Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the mechanical engineering design, preferably in a consulting environment. Candidates must have a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with a proven understanding of applied engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred and will be given greater consideration. Additional certifications and licenses through USGBC or other related organizations are preferred. This opportunity is ideal for engineers who wish to grow their career with a firm dedicated to individual professional growth in an environment centered on team participation. Considerations must be proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office products; have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; and be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Additional job skills that would enhance a candidates standing include: the ability to estimate general energy usage for facilities and how various energy users play into the overall efficiency and LEED standards; a strong knowledge of control systems, communication protocols and interfaces, and ideas on how to depict control requirements on drawings and in specifications. Experience running energy simulations for buildings, both conceptually and later for LEED/Epact proof of compliance, will be given greater consideration. Field experience, as it relates to SMACNA, duct and pipe supports, smoke and fire damper installations, and equipment layouts, is also desired. Experience with RS Means, and general exposure to construction estimating, is preferred.

■  Airfield Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Airfield Engineer to join our award-winning Aviation Group, located in our Norcross headquarters. We are always looking for intellectually savvy and responsive engineers to compliment our award-winning, growth-oriented firm. Qualified individuals will have a Civil Engineering Degree, and their registration or professional license. In addition, they will have at least 8-10 years experience in airfield design including pavements, geometry, grading and drainage, and serving clients such as Commercial Service Airports, Corps of Engineers, Navy, Air Force, other DoD, FAA and other military and federal agencies. Candidates must be familiar with federal compliance and be proficient with the unique terminology and reporting requirements.

In order to be considered for the position, candidates should have 8-10 years related experience in a commercial and military aviation, with a focus on military and/or aviation projects and clients. Professional Engineer license is mandatory. Requires ability and experience in leading projects, mentoring, analytical and problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with people, and strong presentation skills.

■  Director of Landscape Architecture (Intown Office)

We are currently in need of an experienced Landscape Architect to join our winning Transportation & Community Development team located in our intown Atlanta office. This position will entail leading Landscape Architects and Project Managers through efforts in multi-disciplined projects and business development. Our portfolio includes projects in urban design, environmental planning, active and passive recreation, trails and greenways, as well as municipal, campus and institutional work, streetscapes, livable town center redevelopment, transit oriented development, regional parks, skate parks, multi-use and bicycle trails. Landscape Architects at POND also serve to support the other programs within our firm, including Federal and Municipal Facilities, Fueling, and Aviation.

A Registered Landscape Architect with a minimum of 10-20 years of experience primarily in professional consulting, with proven success in client management, department management, and business development. This position requires excellent analytical, problem solving, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills. To excel in our culture and with our client base, candidates must be team oriented with proven successful people management skills. ■  Entry Level Fire Protection Engineer

We are currently seeking an entry level Fire Protection Engineer to join our award-winning team located in our Atlanta corporate office. We have a number of exciting projects in house serving clients in the municipal, military and corporate/aviation segments. Our Fire Protection Engineers work alongside Electrical, Structural, Civil, Mechanical and CAD departments to provide building systems design to our Program Managers and delivering comprehensive design consulting and project management services. With some clients we go further in providing design-to-build solutions utilizing our in-house Construction Management team.

We are looking for a degreed Fire Protection Engineer, with 1-3 years experience in the Fire Protection field; new graduates are encouraged to apply. The chosen candidate will work alongside other professional engineers in a consulting environment, designing projects related to military facilities and/or government buildings. Candidate will provide code consulting, design and calculations for fire suppression systems, special hazard systems, fire alarm/mass notification systems, and Life Safety and building code reviews and analyses. ■  Fueling/Aviation Project Manager

We are currently in need of an experienced Project Manager to join our award-winning Fueling team located in our Atlanta corporate office. This position will entail working within a design team in our Aviation/Fueling Department, serving our client’s needs in bulk fuel storage and dispensing systems. Our highly-trained, specialized professionals bring vast experience, including more than 750 fueling projects at more than 250 installations worldwide, ranging in construction size from $50,000 to $120,000,000. ■  Interior Designer

We are looking for an experienced Interior Designer, to work as a representative of Pond & Company’s established and award-winning Design Team. This full-time position will be in our Jacksonville, FL office. Expected duties will include design, technical/production support (BIM/CAD drafting), possess good writing skills, preparation of furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E) packages, attending design team and/or client design review meetings, the development of criteria and design documents, and assistance to the interior design needs for a Pond & Company client. 

Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess a 4-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (CIDA, NCIDQ preferred) in Interior Design, with a minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience. Field experience in government, facility, or military-related projects is preferred. Experience in healthcare facilities is also a plus. Qualified candidates shall have one of the following credentials: National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) certification or state and/or jurisdiction Interior Design Certification, Registration or License.  Professionals must provide an online portfolio of previous work to be considered. ■  Mechanical Engineer / Designer

We are currently in need of an entry-mid level Mechanical Engineer / Designer to join our award-winning team located in our Jacksonville office. The Mechanical Engineer / Designer shall be responsible for producing construction plans, specifications, and other technical drawings in an efficient and timely manner. The construction plans and specifications shall include HVAC, Mechanical Piping, Mechanical Instrumentation & Controls, Plumbing, Riser Diagrams and Pressure Piping Plans. The job duties include, but are not limited to, research, field survey, and data collection as well as performing the calculations necessary to assemble a complete permit package.

The skills required for the position are engineering (BIM/CAD design) and business applications with a PC: Word, Excel, Outlook, REVIT and AutoCAD. Demonstrated proficiency with REVIT is a plus. The applicant must be detail oriented with good time management skills to meet deadlines on multiple projects. The position requires a Mechanical Engineering Degree with EIT and has the energy and drive to pursue a PE License. Experience with HVAC software such as Trane Trace, Carrier HAP and other application/calculation software is required. 5 years of progressive Mechanical Design experience is desirable.
